In my opinion it's the Supermeet folks who are ethically challenged here. While I don't what kind of pressure Apple applied, a principled "no" from the event organizers would of demonstrated clarity of character rarely seen these days.
If there was to be an 11th commandment it should read "first come, first served".
Money, promises, swag, perks, popularity, fame or threats should not pull men away from the right course of action.
