perfect bridge into tape-based infrastructures.
Free Resolve will be a Game Changer (TM) - 2 nodes is functional but a
little limited, so people will get used to it and then get hooked.
The other thing that I've been most interested in is Adobe's new pricing
model - effectively a software lease. Producton Premium at $89/mth with new
versions included makes a lot of sense. Effectively it's paying off the
product over 19-20 months, but the product release cycle is much less than
that so you're also saving on upgrade costs.
I'd love to see Avid adopt a similar model - seems it would be very possible
with the current software licensing methods.
Now we just have to wait and see what FCP looks like at Supermeet. I'm still
expecting something like iMovie Pro.
