With Randy Unbillos (project manager etc for iMovie for iPad) supposedly taking part in the development of FCP it seems like it wouldn't be a huge stretch.
Multitouch actually seems like a powerful UI for timeline navigation etc.
And this is exactly the type of eye candy that Apple loves.
the only thing is that I think latency over wifi would be annoyingly high, and connection via USB seems... well, messy.
Hmm.
Anyway, it's a thought.
