But I do believe there's something going on at Apple. And don't get me wrong, I in no way claim to know what it is but, besides the fact that because of his health issues Mr. Jobs is being forced to take on a different kind of role, or let's say, a role different than he historically has had, (perhaps via an ultimatum given by his family and/or doctors) shit is being shaken up, up there.
Look at the recent exodus in the executive suite. Bertrand Serlet leaving after 22 years, Allison Johnson leaving after 11 years, rumors of Jon Ive going back to the UK... Who's next?
Seemingly, but I believe not entirely off topic is the question of what will Tim Cook do when (if he hasn't already) he takes on a larger role in running the company...
I thought it was a no brainer that he would see the benefit of opening iOS up more along the lines of Google Android. My personal feeling is that it's business suicide to try and have a pissing match with Google et al.

Android is a Monster of an operating system. So the question becomes, is it really worth it for Apple to stay proprietary for the sake of "market dominance."
OK, I'm not an economist and I don't play one on TV but I don't think so.
The mobile space is the future. Fighting Flash and Android, regardless of their faults or merits is, IMHO a useless and futile game.
Humanity will do fine. End users on the other hand...
