[Avid-L2] Re: How to scan a drive

Are you PC or Mac?

If PC, then consider RichCopy - an unadvertised Microsoft shareware application. Info at:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2009.04.utilityspotlight.aspx?pr=blog

It copies (multiple files in parallel) and verifies. It will compare, using a variety of parameters, so that it only copies files that have changed. It will work over a network.

It generates an error log if it is unsuccessful in xfering files after x number of tries.

I use it regularly to backup projects, and just last week migrated my music and sound fx libraries to two different drives with much peace of mind.

If you want to donate to Red Cross quake relief, you can do so through your cell phone. Text redcross to 90999 to make a $10 donation. It will be on your next cell bill.
