I believe Avid has missed the mark a bit with this upgrade - or is applying the usual poor timing - by not accelerating their adoption of 3rd party i/o products. Currently only MXO2 Mini and Io Express are supported. You can't use MC on any other AJA or Matrox products or any Blackmagic Design cards. FCP users would be more likely to cross-grade if they could use their existing hardware. The time to have opened this up would have been this week, not in 6 months or next year.
