I was told the Kona 3G can be configured to output 4k using all four SDI spigots each putting out a quad of the 4K signal. I was told this is a common way to feed 4K monitors. At the same demo the engineer said that they weren't still selling the Kona3 and that the Kona 3G was cheaper than the 3.
