Yes, SD support. However, the PVM is always deinterlacing, and the BVM has the option to turn that off if you want to check fields. Also, the PVM has no resizing, so you get a 4x3 pillarboxed SD image.
Also, the panels, while technically the same, are all graded. The spec for acceptance of a given panel in the BVM line is higher than the PVM line.
Also, Sony is rating the panels at 30K hours. They are warrantying the BVMs for 3 years and the PVMs for either 1 or 2, the tech wasn't totally sure.
