I don't think so. Avid ref movie exports from DNxHD (same as source) and
ProRes use 709 mapping (16-235), not RGB mapping. Both files will look
different in QT Player. If you bring the resultant ProRes file back into MC
via AMA, though, the output (as viewed on external monitors) will be the
same as the original Avid sequence. I've followed these steps quite a few
times with excellent results.
