Re: [Avid-L2] Re: AJA or Matrox

The Matrox Rack would be great! It's what I was expecting before the AJA io
Express was announced.

Best regards,

Randy

It's pretty straightforward at this point David, if you want or need an I/O
option then the AJA IoExpress is the way to go ...

... then again, if you mostly work tapeless and just need monitoring, the
MXO2 Mini is still good value for money. You can use the bundled MXO2
"Vetura Capture" software to ingest direct to DNxHD, but bear in mind that
unlike the IoExpress the MXO2 Mini does not have SDI I/O or RS422 ports, on
the other hand the MXO2 Mini does allow for up/down and cross conversion on
input or output whereas the IoExpress only does downconversion (and only on
output I think).

By the end of the year we'll hopefully see Avid open up to support full I/O
from other vendors and models (and when that happens the MXO2 LE is probably
a better eggs to eggs comparison for the IoExpress rather than the MXO2
Mini) but for now AJA have the all important I/O exclusive.

Hope it helps
Andy

IO is obviously not Kona, but is it good enough to be the One to Get? Is it
worth twice as much as the Matrox?
