Re: [Avid-L2] Milestone

 

Speaking as a broadcast user, I can say that we are being forced to
change our workflow. Not just by the "Preditor" paradigm, but also by
the simple fact of file-based, digital acquisition formats.

I oversee a NewsCutter-centric editing environment and we can handle
most of the oddball formats that walk in the door, but ProRes footage
is problematic. There is no Mac version of NewsCutter software and
ProRes doesn't play well with Quicktime for Windows, as far as I have
been able to determine.

I don't know if you're involved with NewsCutter at all, Mr. Capria,
but my door is always open if you're in NYC and want to see our
workflow.
