Thanks folks. Well at least it isn't just me. As far as I can tell though, it is a newish development, because it hasn't been an issue in the past. Not sure if it an Avid thing or a Mac OS thing.
I have found that only rebooting and sometimes doing a P-RAM "flush" fixes it. Very annoying to have to stop working to re-boot.

I will be happily option dragging sequences from one bin to another to copy them and all of a sudden the option key stops working. Same with the command click snapping the position indicator to edits in the timeline. I can't figure out why, but it is happening to me on 3 different MC 5.0.3 systems. Two are MacPro and on is a MacBook Pro. Kind find rhyme nor reason for it. It never happens on my trusty PowerMac G5(OS 4.1.1) running 3.0.5. Is it just me? Really?

If you want to donate to Red Cross quake relief, you can do so through your cell phone. Text redcross to 90999 to make a $10 donation. It will be on your next cell bill.
