Thanks for the update. I know the few times I've worked with F-500s there were various mods that Sony came out with to fix issues and add functionality is some cases and depending how on top of it the rental house may or may not have had the mods done. I think adding pulldown for a downconvert with proper time code and what the 5500 calls time code sense was something that came along with one of the mods IIRC. At any rate I can't wait for your upload of "Waveform Porn." I'll dim the lights and break out my probe for proper calibration. ;-) What the heck I'll even spring for a round of tweakers for everyone.
