I stopped by an edit session (in FCP) the other day using the ProRes 444 Alexa files. From the uninitiated viewpoint, the workflow was very slick (broadcast spot work) and the image looked fantastic. Is this camera the Red killer? The Avid killer? After spending 33 hours converting Red 4k to ProRes on a recent FCP gig and not really trusting AMA for any heavy editorial, this camera and Final Cut may just put the last dagger in my Avid work and Red work. The DP's around this region are falling in love with this thing (I know you long form b'cast and film guys will not agree...just saying for my work). This should be interesting to watch.

If you want to donate to Red Cross quake relief, you can do so through your cell phone. Text redcross to 90999 to make a $10 donation. It will be on your next cell bill.
