A few questions for you all this Saturday:
1- I just want to make sure my logic is holding up (as this one line below is causing some "discussion").
The delivery specs for this show state:
"HD: 16x9 – 14x9 title safe"
So, my understanding of that is that all titles should be placed within the 14x9 title safe area (which makes prefect sense to me).
Since Avid doesn't have this as part of the Grid displays, I made the following in Photoshop:

Based on that, all titles should be within the inner-most blue rectangle . . . correct?
2- The delivery specs state:
- the production must be 1080p 23.98PsF
- "The shows TRT and Format Breakdown (clock) must reflect Drop Frame Timecode (DFTC) to match broadcast 59.94Hz clock."
I know I can display the TC in 29.97DF format, but is there an easy way to keep track of duration in Avid other than doing the math manually?
3- All audio elements and the guide QT movie for mixing must also be 1080p/23.976, but they are asking for the final masters to be 1080i/59.94.
- Any recommendations for this?
- My thoughts are to either:
A) master to the native 23.98 then transfer/convert to a 1080i tape
B) open the 23.98 sequence bin in a new 59.94 project, then transcode for output.
Thanks for any input you may have.
Cheers,
B
