I'm actually an advocate of the MC behavior, allow me to trim, but leave the subclip in the bin alone. That way the application only does what I need it to do and what I'm asking it to do. If I really need a new subclip, I can make one.
I think Oliver is undoubtedly right that this issue has not been resolved (or even recognized as an issue) in the next "jaw dropping" release.
Best,
Shirley

Subject: [Avid-L2] FR:Subclip behavior was: New FCP? Hmmm.....
Better behavior?: "When I chose 'remove Subclip Limits', allow the trim
beyond the original subclip start/end and upon leaving trim mode modify
the start/end to the subclip to the new trimmed limits"
