[Avid-L2] OT: PBS Workshop in NYC

You are invited to the New York edition of the Public Television Quality Workshop.
It will be held from 8am to 6pm March 2, 2011 at Sony's Headquarters at 550 Madison Avenue on the 28th floor. We've held this workshop in San Francisco, Minneapolis, Boston and Nashville to excellent reviews.

The day-long event is an excellent training opportunity for the television production community, including producers, shooters, and audio professionals – and at $50, a great deal as well. There will be a packed day of sessions covering acquisition, production, post-production and distribution. We've also allowed ample time for networking opportunities for participants to interact with attendees and speakers. There is a strict limit of 70 participants, so register early.

We've brought in a number of experts from the New York area and beyond. A sample of the sessions include:

- Things you Can and Can't Fix in Post KEYNOTE – Mark Schubin (Emmy-award winning SMPTE Fellow)
- Can You Hear Me Now: Field Audio Acquisition -- Tom Holmes (Emmy-award winning Audio Mixer)
- DSLR's for Television Production -- Michael Guncheon (Technical Editor for HDVideoPro Magazine)
- There and Back Again, File-based workflows -- Matthew Schneider (PostWorks)
- What's Wrong with this Picture: Common Problems with Program Masters -- Tim Mangini (FRONTLINE) & Steve Scheel (PBS)
- Recording Media Options, Codecs, and Containers – Dave MacCarn (WGBH)
- Editing the Documentary -- Steve Audette (Senior Editor, NOVA/WGBH)
- Camera Tricks of the Trade -- Billy Steinberg (multiple-Emmy-award-winning master video engineer)

Also at this event: Sony will be showing their new TriMaster EL series of OLED reference monitors for only the second time in the U.S.. This is a rare opportunity to see the next generation of grading/mastering monitors.
