This sounds like a similar problem to one I experienced a few months ago
on my current project. XDCam HD discs were being dumped onto a hard
drive and sent up to me. The problem was that the computer that was
being used didn't have the Sony drivers for the PDW-U1 drive that they
were using, meaning the file heirarchy was all wrong, and vital files
were missing.
When the correct drivers were installed, everything was peachy.
