I think in my case it's a new long form documentary. One main editor and the
producer will have another duplicate drive around so he can view cuts and
selects. AMA doesn't sound like a good idea because I don't care how careful
they are I'm sure I'll be called when something doesn't link.

I can see for short projects it's great I've had other clients work that way
with the Sony Ex footage. I guess my workflow for this situation would be take
BU field drive and AMA footage into system then Transcode material to main
active storage. Then BU that storage to a secondary drive for the Prod to view
stuff on at home. Does this make the most sense?

AVC-Intra support preceded AMA, via the P2 import. I've done several projects
using AVC-Intra natively without AMA and without issues, although none longer
than music video length.
