So things look increasingly like they have changed the camera they are shooting with without telling/asking advice from us. I'm guessing that it's a PMW-500 as Dave suggested as Sony's product description seems to hit all the targets, i.e. disc structure with MXF files for the 4:2:2 on SxS cards. I installed the Sony XDCAM FAM driver (vers 2.30) and the Sony XDCAM U1 drive utility (vers 2.2.0) as you suggested Dylan but this did not help with AMA linking. The clips become visible inside an AMA bin but the media is not linked to them and they don't turn yellow, i just get the media offline screen. All files work on import so no problems with getting them in, just got a bit confused by the unexpected file structure when they had been labeling everything as SxS. Good to know, thanks for all the valuable help getting to the bottom of it!
