So is there some under the hood reason why imported matte keys in 5.0.3.x don't have the option to invert the key like they do in version 4.0.5? Any thoughts?

I couldn't find the promote button at first because it has been moved one button to the left of the bottom right button in the effects window. The position of the promote button on ver 4.0.5 has been taken by the advanced keyframe toggle button and promote is one to the left of that on my 5.0.3.7"r". HTH
