Re: [Avid-L2] Re: AMA issues

Yes I consolidate when finished but not the sequence in question. Its still a work in progress. Clips are not .new.

It's when you consolidate the sequence and it breaks the imports into little chunks of the original clip which happens when reel names get added. This causes big headaches. It seems some times I get burned when the sequence is just consolidated even if nobody added reel names if I reimport graphics they are wrong just like if reel names were added. I did a test once with lower third banners and as soon as I consolidated the edit sequence of them a batch import messed things up.

When you go about reimporting the clips are they clips that are the entire length of the original source? I've seen this behavior over the years when AEs give imported clips reel names and then the Avid treats them like a tape source which ends up messing up in points and the fit to fill like speed up of the clip on reimport. This was before ama but it sure sounds like the same type of confusion. Did the sequence get consolidated at some point?

I went to batch import and Avid would not see them. I had to manually reselect each clip and batch import it. But the shots are all wrong and the clips, which are quite long in raw form, are coming in high speed. What could cause that to happen. Frustrating as this was a finished piece and now a very large bin of media is all screwed up.
