ProRes would be best if it's ProRes4444, which is a very high data rate, but is also VBR. So a 4K variant could be quite large. I would really advise against sending them this over DPX files if they are a traditional VFX house and not a small After Effects shop (who might be more comfortable with Quicktime files).
The main reason against ProRes is the potential gamma issues and whether the returning files will actually cut well when it comes time to grade the job. Have you figured out which gamma/color setting to use in RCX and whether that will roundtrip correctly?
