If you go to the "Auto" side of the mixer tool, there's a BRB (big red button). There are also a couple of boxes where you can enter pre-roll and post-roll values. Push the BRB, and the systems pre-rolls, then rolls forward and starts recording keyframes as you push the faders in the window up and down with the mouse. Push the BRB again to stop recording, and with auto gain displayed in your timeline, you'll see a bunch of really messy keyframes you've just added with this hairbrained feature. I guess it could work with the right hardware interface.

I was always really embarrassed when I had to demo this when I was teaching - the results always just looked so useless, with many duplicative keyframes. Once again, I guess it's a function of interface.

What is the special mode to adjust audio while playing? Or are you talking

about the looping preview in audio suite plug ins?
