To be fair, the Avid BBS (the First Class version - not the Telefinder Spider) killed *itself* just a couple of days before the start of the original Symphony beta testing 10 years ago.

It was killed *off* when it was apparent that what _should_ have been a straightforward restore from backups wasn't going to take place (or perhaps *couldn't* take place). Mike S. was the admin - look him up and ask.

PS: I concur - the Avid website, especially after the Pro Tools fold-in, pretty much blows.
