Lou,
In the upper right of your project window is a % of memory used counter. As you open more bins and do more things to your sequence(s), you can see the number increase. Closing bins helps, rendering helps. Smaller sequence bins help. Avid is a hog and even closing bins doesn't always make the % go down. When you approach 85% you start risking a lock-up. I have had some success in lowering the % by closing all bins, click on the "Info" tab at the top of project window, the last tab says "Clear Bin Memory", click it.
Not quite as good as a re-launch but it has saved me quite often.

I have come across this now a few times. Only when importing MTS files. I sometimes get an error saying "The system is running low on memory (100% full). Close bins and save project."
I have 8 gigs of Ram, a few TB of drive space. What memory is Avid referring too. This stops the import and forces me to reboot. Does anyone know what causes this?
PS
Still cant get my DAE plugs to load.
thanks
Lou
