[Avid-L2] Re: Grouping and Synching Multicams

Steve does your explanation cover the auto sequence to layered sequence of all cameras with everything being synced to backup audio from something like a Deva record device? Then the tedious process of adding edits at the clip starts and end before creating sub sequences before creating multi groups. Also the use of quick keys to automate the entry of aux time code into all the sub clips that are created after the add edits are put in. I'm sure I'm missing some of the steps and the order may be a little off but I recently went through the process with some of the AEs where I work. It was an eye opener beyond my basic understanding of grouping and was fascinating from a research stand point. Executing it is tedious and I was told that syncing and grouping a days worth of footage takes about 2.5 to 3 days when working with several cameras like there are on most reality shows. It was great to learn and appreciate the work that went into developing a system to streamline the process. There are some websites that go over the process very completely.

Can anyone tell me how I can get instruction with actual footage to work with to practice. I would also be willing to pay someone though I have a limited budget. Any info is greatly appreciated.
