Because for that feature to work, you need a lot of horsepower. The 8400
won't give you enough of that.

Besides, on Symphony Nitris, there is no way to change from full green mode
to yellow/green mode, which is the only mode in which MC will actually play
back R3D in realtime.

On my MC 8600 (2x QC 3.0), it works. During yellow/green playback, I get
24.00fps playback. The performance monitor then shows 8 cores pumping at
98%.

I've decided to take Avid up on their offer to upgrade from classic Nitris
to DX. That still won't give me RT on the Symphony, I fear. But I'd rather
transcode anyway, since 95% of what I do is longform.

Not sure what OS you are on, but I just found out that Vista Biz 64 SP1 is
no longer supported. SP2 is.
