You need a transcript with a fair amount of TC's in it, right?
Now why would it be needed to have actual word recognition?
Just finding the duration of spoken words and match that with the duration
(char count) of the script within boundaries of the TC provided should get
you very close...
(perhaps throw in an exception list for each language, so strange words, eg.
words like eg are recognized as longer than expected)
This would work for most languages, and would require almost no processing
time.
That is, if you find the words in the sound fast enough...
So while i'm at it, why is the waveform in Avid, running on a quad 3 gig
machine, still slower than on my first M100 that ran on a single proc 80
Mhz?
Granted, it's more accurate, but for me just power is good enough so i can
see where someone starts/stops talking...
