At least the footage used is minimal. It's "fan-cam" stuff shot at the
local minor league baseball stadium. On the plus side, it's easier to
import the Flip cam footage into our Avids than it is footage shot on newer
cameras. (No H.264 support)

I feel your pain. We have an entire project coming up which is being shot on
a Flip-type camera. It's purely budgetary. The one shining ray of hope is
that the client, who's shooting it, has shot before and got a Kodak camera
with an external mic input. So at least the interviews will be intelligible.
