Re: [Avid-L2] The growing trend to use DSLRs for HD video shots.

Did the Flip cam thing twice a year ago or two ago.

Workflow was:

1. Backup media to USB/Firewire drives.
2. Use Sorenson Squeeze in an old xw8000 or xw8200 to recompress files to
15:1s for offline import to Unity (we added a second 500GB drive in the HP
computer for the Squeeze output)
3. Edit
4. Decompose for online
5. Select clips for re-encoding as 1:1 8bit SD
6. Batch import for online


This was the best method we found for the 100 hours or so of
"diary/confession" Flip cam footage.
