Sounds like one of the legs of trans or receive is lifted. Could be a
different chip set or whatever that is more sensitive to a balanced input.
Perhaps other Sonys will use the shield as an alternate tx- or rx-. Kinda
like balanced verses unbalanced inputs in a Behringer mixer, my impression
is they aren't really as isolated as a more expensive mixer. Time to Ohm
check the pin outs and share with the group.
