You know that's what I would have thought, but no. The Transcode
resulted in 5 pieces of video media for one "master clip" The more I
think about it, I suspect Consolodate would not do what I want
either... stitch 5 bits of (p2 sourced) video media into a single
file. I could do a mixdown but that's not attractive.
When I first started dealing with media going off-line, ReLink would
not work. After following best practices on bring in the p2 files,
ReLink seems to work but I'd really like the stuff to stay linked and
not worry about it. I'm on an oldish release of MC (2.7) on G5 ppc,
I'd upgrade to 3.1.3 if there was a firm prospect of that improving
things.
