[Avid-L2] Re: MC recapture Hi Res

Did they batch capture to the original clips? If so, you are good. If they just captured the clips again, odds are against you.

Here is what MC looks for to relink a master clip.

Tape name (this includes the project name the tape was created in, this info is hidden from you in normal view)

Timecode (must match exactly both start and end)

So you can see that the chances of a recapture by scratch relinking are slim. One frame of the TC will kill you.

The same tape name created in a different project will kill you.

Now, that said, a submaster will relink if the tape name is the same, and the submaster clip TC falls WITHIN the boundaries of the existing media on the new master clip.

A sequence is a series of subclips.

So, if the assistant used the same tape names, and captured enough media to encompass what was used in your sequence, it should relink.
