[Avid-L2] HDW-500 or 1800?

We are inching towards HD delivery on our small-market weekly
program here...

Stations want delivery on HDCAM. Since we shoot on P2, the decks
will only be used to make deliverables... 7 hours a week. I'm
looking at used HDW-(F)500s or biting the bullet and getting new
HDW-1800s.

Can those of you with experience with these decks give me your
opinions/pros/cons/caveats? Coming out of Adrenalines, MC Soft
3.5, Mac Pro.
