[Avid-L2] Field Order Quandry from SD offline to HD online?

If I'm working 16x9 SD NTSC 30I for an HD 1080I 59.94 what field order should I import the QT low res graphics?  Normally SD would be even lower field first and HD is odd upper field first.  For the graphics to be correct in the SD offline I should import even lower, right?  But will this cause a batch import in the HD online to bring in the QTs even lower.  Has anyone tested to see if when an offline SD sequence is modified to 1080I does the embedded import meta data change from even to odd.  I guess I could toggle the project to HD for the imports and do them odd upper but I'm not keen on the possibility of getting boned on outputs with mixed formats.  Looking forward to this weeks editor's lounge I think I already have my first question. ;-)
