At the moment I am working on a graphics / illustration project in the avid. I have to do loads of pan and zooms and I am having a real problem with the way the Avid deals with high quality tiff files. When I do a very large zoom into a 2040x2040 300dpi image in photoshop or preview, it holds up fine. The detail is there and there is no pixel or softening. Yet I use the same image in Avid Pan and Zoom and it either becomes soft or, for the Avid HQ settings, the image has a strange halo effects on all the contours, particularly with illustrations. What is strangest is that the result is different between mac and pc. Has anyone got any idea how I can get results like those that I have in photoshop?
