Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Default Bin View

Not on my system, I'm afraid. Put a bin view into Site Settings will
make it available to a new user but it will not be active by default,
nor will it be active if the user who creates it makes a new bin or
opens an existing bin in text view. Like I said, I've tried this when
setting up settings for journos in Newsrooms (KISS principle) but it
never worked and as far as I can see, still doesn't. I'm on a Mac BTW
but that shouldn't matter.

The changes will only apply to the active user at the time of dragging
settings, don't remember if they're tied to the active project, but I
think they aren't, will double check that; new bins always open in
brief mode, and brief mode can't be customized AFAIR (I'm not in front
of an Avid right now), but once You've dropped a custom bin view into
the Site settings window clicking on the text view tab on a bin will
display the custom columns instead of whatever it used to be the
software default. Luca
