If you are using satellite latency is huge and impractical AFAI can see
but I have been wrong before. If you are using a ground feed it is
minimal and can be resolved using offsets much like the Grass
controllers used for video tape. For news this will be a pain at each
new location but for any plant based operation and sporting events like
the Olympics it should end up as set it and forget it.

It would seem to me once your links are established a simple ping and
entering the value into the Avid client should be enough.

I reserve my right to be totally OTL on this.
