Re: [Avid-L2] MXO2 LE

I'm not angry Greg, I just really disappointed that Avid remains somewhat reactive rather than getting more proactive. This move will retain a lot of existing customers such as TV stations, but it does not do much to win back those they already lost to the competition or the new school who cut their teeth on Final Cut Pro. I'm betting Avid would capture almost every MXO2 owner if they made the monitoring work across the whole MXO2 series. Mind you, I have no idea what those numbers would be. Maybe its not worth it.

Don't get me wrong - I am really impressed with the MC5 offering and I still prefer MC hands down. I was hoping to see a way to get back into Avid from inside an organization that abandoned it and now runs 100% Final Cut Pro. The last Avid was retired at the end of 2009. This release is so close to what I would need to make it happen at least in part to give the choice back to those who still prefer Avid. We still have some dongles from the soft versions. Anyone need Meridien hardware? We have a stack of it sitting in a bomb shelter outside Helsinki.

And Job, you really made me laugh!
