Re: [Avid-L2] FR: A/V Time Mapping NOW New FR: More flexible project window

I'm pretty partisan about Avid too, but I do like the other products more flexible browser window. I often work in an Avid shop that has huge projects which editors share, establishing their own work areas within the project with named folders. Rather than having to down arrow all the time, I'd like to be able to open up my folder in a separate window, just as I would the on desktop, but the only item Avid allows you to open in a window is a bin. Seems like a simple thing to change.

I'm fairly partisan in my opinion of Avid, but I really do like the tabbed
timelines in that other editing product. Very nice if you're doing live
playback.

1- Frank, I hope you're passing along all the positive reaction we're
having to the v5 features. You and the teams there deserve a round of
applause. I hope the response keeps you and the gang energized.

2- Since you mentioned your growing FR list, here's a couple (which I
just posted in another thread):

Dear Awesome Avid Engineers,
Could you work your magic so that we could solo multiple video tracks
in the same way we can solo multiple audio tracks?

And in the spirit of acknowledging FCP features I covet:
Can we have a tabbed timeline, with tear-away tabs?
And Alpha Channel support for QuickTime AMA?
