[Avid-L2] Re: Registry Storage error NOW Scrubber

Windows XP doesn't have a registry size limit. Windows 2000 and earlier did and could be registry tweaked to increase the size but that was size limit was removed in XP.
The MS link explains how you can change the registry size in the virtual memory tab but if you follow the instructions you'll not find any entry that matches.

I have 2 machines that have this issue and it's related to the increase in RAM above 3GB and using the 3GB switch. The resultant reduction in system available RAM (which is now reduced to allow Applications to have more) Means the loading of a bloated registry into RAM runs out of space and generates the erroneous error message.
The SCRUBBER utility helps as it reduces the registry size. As does deleting any applications that aren't required and running a registry tidy up utility.

I looked at the readme (which seems to come from Facilis, although we are connected to a Terrablock part time, mostly we are not using it and are on local storage. How do I run Scrubber? I switched the Computer type setting to Windows 2000 (as was instructed to do for an XP Pro Computer) and I get a message that this program can only run on Windows 2000.
