Are you sure about the "no firmware differences"? I don't know whether there are or aren't, but the various configurations AJA has released of XENA, KONA and OEM cards are all the same hardware, but all with firmware differences. For example, it took them a while to get the same card to work with FCP and Premiere Pro on the same system and also to get a XENA card to work on Mac under OS X. I'm not saying you are wrong, but for example, have you tested a DS-specific XENA with other apps, like Premiere Pro or After Effects?
Secondly, can you ingest media through the XENA under DS control?
