I've just dragged an 29.97 fps xdCam HD clip straight from the 'CLIP' folder
into Edius, and i've got sound, image and timecode.
Edius is something like 600 euros. I would look into it. There is a free
demo.

However, for me to re-create the XDcam structure would cost me a couple of
days.
The structure is simple, and so is most of the XML involved. It aint rocket
science, but i have to reverse engineer a few things.
Biggest problem, i have no idea if later Avid versions will still eat the
stuff i do.
