Hey Steve,

Download & install this software from sony. http://bit.ly/asdBYl This should install the Vfam Drivers you need for the disc to mount on your desktop.

If the XDCam import tab isn't showing up in Avid, you probably have AMA turned on. If AMA is on, the Import Tab doesn't show. If you haven't worked with XDcam Proxy Media before, prepare to be disappointed with how bad the audio is.

You can get a app for Bouke, that will create BWF files from the HD Files and give you final quality audio. if you want more info on that, let me know.
