[Avid-L2] Running TC to audio track on Canon 5dMk2?

Hi Lists!

I'm involved in a project shooting on the 5dmk2, recording dual system audio.
The plan is to send TC from the sound recorder to one of the audio tracks on the camera, and then use FCP aux TC reader to convert to usable TC.
Since the 5D records at 30.000fps, I'm thinking that the TC should re running at 30.000FPS (NDF) also, this way after I slow down the clips to 29.976 the TC will be 29.976 NDF timecode instead of 29.946 (yuck).

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!
-Nat
