That is correct. The Mac patches are cmplete installs where as the PC patches are not.

In order to install a PC patch you must have the previous full installer and application on the system. For example... you download Media Composer v4.0.5.1 patch, so you must have the Media Composer v4.0.5 application and installer on your system.

The Avid editor Macintosh .dmg patch is a full installer and will not overwrite your previous installer. You need to uninstall your previous installed version.
