[Avid-L2] Another XDCAM question

So, I imported all my proxy files from XDCAM to cut this puppy and
everything works great.

Now, another editor says that by changing the Name of each clip in the
bin from whatever the ingest name was from the XDCAM to something in
English, I've made it impossible to batch import to do the uprez. That
seems crazy to me. Does anybody know if I've screwed myself here?

Each XDCAM disk only had one proxy and one clip, so it shouldn't be
too difficult to rename all of the clips (8 isos times three hours),
but it seems to me that if I imported using the XDCAM Import option,
and told the Avid what disk was in the deck at the beginning of each
import, then the Avid shouldn't care whether I changed the clip name.
Or am I wrong?

I've done this before successfully, but I honestly don't remember
whether I changed the clip names last time.
