Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Creating Folders for XDCAM HD

I could do it for you, but it'll be cheaper to use Edius or Vegas for
editing.
(it sounds you don't do hefty editing anyways)

What I want to do is exploit the soft import ability of AMA to access
archived material on a server. Example. You have hundreds of finished films
on a server. The 2 goals are to be able to read the MXF files natively via
VLC (possible in XDCAM HD as the media file is basically an m2v files) and
also be able to access this material 20 times per day to build compliations.
Naturally, I don't see much point in importing these files each time I build
a reel when I can use AMA to bring them in natively and therefore save loads
of server space. This is just for cutting elements one after the other for a
tape output. My problem is that I already have a large part of the library
already in m2v but I can't find an app that will create the AMA compatible
folder / XML structure. Any ideas?
Many thanks
Christopher
