RE: [Avid-L2] DNxHD QuckTime FCP Import Question

Anyone advise on the cleanest route from Avid DNxHD timeline to FCP?

Spooky - Fallen foul of this very thing today with S.A.S. DNxHD120 - bearing
in mind these are file transfers and I need to keep things manageable at
around 10GB for a 10 min item.

Cheers

Jim Howat

"be aware of gamma shifts!"

There was a thread very recently about this on the DS-L.

Best advice is to export a few seconds of bars PLUS a few seconds of a
linear ramp. The bars will confirm levels, but the ramp will easily confirm
gamma.

Dennis,
Latest versions of Avid DO export QT with timecode (but sadly, not with a
reelname in the QT tc track) If you want that as well, (or are on an older
avid), use my QT change application.
http://www.videotoolshed.com/product/42/qtchange

There is a video (of an old version) showing how to batch add TC / Reelname
to Avid QT exports.

And to add, be aware of gamma shifts!
